One of the more attractive developments in Hillsborough, New Jersey, is Fox Chase. It is located north of Hillsborough Road between Willow and Woods Roads. Built by Lackland Brothers in the period 1978-1980, Fox Chase consists of about 175 homes – ranches, capes, colonials, splits and bi-levels. The square footage varies from about 1000 (unexpanded 2 bedroom Cape) to 2200. Not all homes have basements. Many homes have been substantially updated with new kitchens, baths, etc.
Very appealing is the size of the lots and the general layout of the development. Nearly all lots are at least half and acre – roughly 100 x 200. Because of the age of the homes in the area, most landscaping is mature and attractive, and affords privacy.
A paved walk- and bike-way meanders throughout Fox Chase down to a small lake in the northwest corner of the development. There are also several preserved areas of trees and parkland.

The location of the development makes for relatively easy commuting to Princeton or New Brunswick, each about 20 minutes away. Interstate 287 is also less than 20 minutes away.
The school system is Hillsborough Township, known for good quality education. In the past, Hillsborough’s system has been acknowledged for giving “more bang for the buck” to the township’s taxpayers – no small achievement.
